Latest things to keep my hands busy…
A pair of red, white, and blue round reins. Who are they for? I think I have a plan for a stash for the grandkids… as they need “grownup” reins (length is 8′ – much too long for short pony necks), maybe there will be enough of them to choose one they like. One down. Seven to go.
A knotted rug made from scrap fabric. Technically, it’s from brand new, but very cheap sheets. Ripped into 1″ ribbons and knotted… I’ve carried this rug lots of places. I’m hoping for just a few more rounds and I’m going to call this finished. It does, by the way, match my bathroom colors.

My “newest” craft is a potholder rug. Made exactly like we did as kids on the old potholder looms, except I used old t-shirts for the loops. Finished size is 20″ x 20″. Once I gather more like colored t-shirts, I’ll make another and then sew them together to create a 40″ x 20″ runner. At some point, I will put out a call for L and XL t-shirts! These are fast to make and I’m hoping people will be happy to rid themselves of old t-shirts so I can recycle them into soft rugs/sleeping mats/dog beds/lap quilts!

Craft on!

Love this knotted rug! Such pretty colors too. Would you consider doing a video tutorial?
Sure!
A great use of old/cheap fabric. They look wonderful. I’ve made several Quillows using old curtain material. My ‘wild horse quilt’ has a mix of fabrics including old green patterned sheets bought around 1977 but still not worn on the edges. There is snow around in Middle England – lots further north – but so far just strong winds and rain from storm Ciara for us.
