Ten Talks

Posted on March 21, 2020March 21, 2020

While the Ten Sleep Library is currently on hiatus, like many other places… we wanted to keep in touch with our patrons. For the older folks we’ve been promoting our free audiobooks, ebooks, and magazines. Plus the amazing databases on genealogy, history, Wyoming newspapers, auto repair, practice tests for school and professional exams… the list goes on and on.

For our story time kids though, we wanted something special. Oh sure, we could promote Bookflix, which is a little kids audiobook with animations from the book… but what could we do that would make it personal?

Well, my thing lately has been movies on here, so I applied that to the library. I started off with a book some of you may recognize. It’s a little thing dear to my heart. Some of you have seen the boys’ rendition of it at our Centennial Celebration. Here’s my version.

Yes, I wanted to call it Ten Talks, instead of TED Talks, but didn’t figure people would understand my weird sense of humor… it is supposed to be for children, y’know!

That was the best story I have heard in days! In this time of trouble, a ray of sunshine! Thanks!

Thank you for mentioning Bookflix! I hadn’t heard of it but checked my city library and they have it online. So I told my daughter-in-law and she’s got the 4 year old all set up. It will be a help while mom and dad work from home.

A wonderful story. With all that’s going on in our world it was great to step away and step into your Red Dirt and relax for s short time.

Lovely. Very, very special. Very nice rendition, too, in the most perfect setting. Can’t imagine anyone not loving this, not being touched by this.
In the beginning, were there a pair of eagles soaring above?
