I did it! Yay!
This week’s Re-Red Week in Review starts off with a Mormon cricket, the big elk herd everyone has been waiting for, fixing fence with the cool new staple gun and the old way of hiking with a bucket and hammer…mountain scenery and moving cattle… the hypnotic waves of blowing grass (which led to the “ships of the prairies, the prairie schooners”)… then back to moving steers this time in the dry badlands pasture.
Enjoy!

Beautiful! Nice elk herd, cool to see all the calves but maybe a little hard on your fences. And WOW, that’s a heck of a zoom you have!
Thanks for sharing!
Sarah
I love the zoom. I won’t buy a camera without a good zoom. In this country you need it!
Amazing. So well done. Beautiful scenery and music. Loved the slow motion grass blowing in the wind. Thank you.
I absolutely love this video, and the music is a masterful choice. The elk herd is awe inspiring. Now I am homesick for Ten Sleep. The staple gun looks like a thumb-saver. I hope it doesn’t get jammed up too often. Thanks!
I absolutely loved the video showing the elk herd moving on the hill and with that beautiful music accompanying it. I was so enjoyable and moving. I will be watching it again and again. Well done, and thank you for it. I’m sure it took you a good deal of time to do that. Thank you!
Do the dogs ever act like they want to go after the elk?
If they’re closer, yes. But we don’t let them!
You are moving up to another “level” of artistry! This was magnificent – the elk scenes are simply beyond words! And all the music to accompany the beautiful scenery is very, very moving. Seeing the old fence posts, the work it takes to maintain them, and the enjoyment afterwards of distant vistas, cooling water, flowers, and loyal dogs…..I’m going to re-re-Red this often!
THANK YOU!
Thanks so much!
I love your blog and the videos. They make me feel like I was there!
Thanks!
Thanks Carol! That was great, the elk seemed confused, didn’t know where to go! & that lush green grass compared to the dry, dusty conditions on the cattle move, & the little building, now I see there was a house there also, now on to the fence, love those old ceder posts, holding them up with rocks? never did that here in Iowa, but I have spliced plenty of rusty barb wire together, that staple gun is handy, but looks heavy, but what do I know, now days a number 2 lead pencil is heavy for me!Keep those cows & calves happy! Can’t wait for the next video, Thanks again, Paul
Something sure spooked those elk to turn around and come back, but I don’t know what it was. Places where it’s too rocky to dig, you use rocks to hold up your posts!
Beautifully done.
Thanks.
Wow Thanks again Carol! It is so beautiful!! the way you captured the elk and the hard work your family does everyday to work the cattle brought tears to my eyes the music everything …Just so grateful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
