I did it.
I haven’t had a cell phone since… well, it was a flip phone… and I used pre-paid cards with minutes on it. So, a long time ago, I had a cell phone. Then I got rid of it, too much money, too little use, no cell service in many of the places I went… I’d forget to buy a card… bleh.
I’ve done all my blogging from my desktop and iPad. All my Facebook and Instagram and YouTube. Not that I haven’t wanted to do a live video out riding… or actually have a picture appear instantly on Instagram… but every time I’d *almost* invest in an iPhone, I’d talk myself out of it.
I have borrowed friend’s phones to call home. I have wondered a few times if I got into trouble somewhere, if anyone could find me. I have wondered…
Well.
If there’s any gadget on a cell phone that’s going to grab my attention, it’s going to be… a camera.
A very nice camera.
iPhone 11 Pro has a nice camera.
I went in to the store *just to look*, and, I was impressed. Now, never fear, my little Canon isn’t going anywhere (except maybe to get *cleaned*), its zoom is clearly the best on a point and shoot. But I’ve tried some photos with my camera and it’s pretty stinking good.

So… I’ve gone over to the “Dark Side”. I’m now with the majority of people who own cell phones!
I’m trying to set things up. I’d love to do some live videos, I’m just trying to decide on whether I should put them on Facebook (which I know some of you don’t have) or put them on YouTube. I’m leaning towards YouTube. If you think you might like to talk to me live… and ask questions or look at some pretty country… I hope you’ll join me!
I’m going to struggle and do some quick tests tomorrow if you happen to be around…
Find me here!
Welcome to the ‘ Club’. I’d be lost without my phone. I go on the side of caution with these digital things: one Android, one Apple and one Windows, just in case!!!!! Good luck. I’ll really enjoy your on the job Office videos.
Cool news! I just bought my first lap-top so I can Zoom with my family and piano students; but I don’t have a smart phone….I have a flip phone just for any car emergencies. Result: I’m addicted to the portability of the lap top!!! I knew that would happen. So I’m still holding off getting a smart phone because I probably would never put it down! I hope your new phone serves you well though.
At first we got cell phones as a safety feature when traveling alone through the urban jungle. Now I find my phone invaluable and use it to do pretty much everything a computer and a camera can do. Of course, the cell service is quite good here in the DC metro area. When I travel across country and hit ‘dead zones’ I have to admit, I wonder how I ever survived without one.
I still do not have a cell phone. I would have to stand in my driveway to use it, to get service. Working on it though, as Century Link has raised my bill to almost $100.00 and I do not use it that often. Maybe I’ll join you to one day. Only a flip phone though. teehee I’m not ready for the big time.
Love the photos.
I drug my feet for years too! Finally got one last year out of necessity ugh.
Anyway it has come in handy but I don’t use most applications…
The pics are beautiful btw.
I still have a flip phone, I do like the camera, I my digital camera stays home unless I’m going somewhere special,, I’ll never get a “modern” cell phone, too many folks can’t even walk across the street without their eyes on their dang phone! I’ll not join’em-
