I’m a list maker. I like the idea of crossing things off of a list when completed. It gives me that little “atta girl” feeling.
Many times my lists don’t have deadlines, which is unfortunate, because deadlines help me. Like the fact that we have a hunter coming who will stay in my studio. He will be here October 12. Maybe the 13th, depending on if he drives straight through or not.
Today being the 6th, and I’m working the next two days at the library… then we’re preg testing the 9th and maybe bringing the cows off the top of the mountain after that… well, I needed to get it cleaned today!
I spent most of the day in here. Putting crafts away. Pulling down cobwebs. Sweeping. Wiping everything down with bleach water. I don’t really know why, but I just enjoy this space so much! I listened to the oldies (60’s) radio station… then I’d listen to my audio book…
Sure, I have to make the bed, mop the floor, and clean a couple of windows still, but… I’m pretty proud of myself. I should have taken a “before” photo!
A flock of wild turkeys crossed the field below, chirping in their pleasant little way. My chickens clucked around… and one of Brandon’s big steers came and looked in the window, spooked me, and when I squealed, he departed in a huff.
No, I haven’t ever finished painting the ceiling. No, I haven’t ever painted the floor. Someday, a paint fairy might appear and I’ll be super impressed… but for right now, I’m not worried about it. If it happens, it happens.
I just enjoy my “Sundog Studio” and let the world (and turkeys and chickens and deer and steers) go by… What about you? Would you stay here?
Find me here!
I love your studio! It looks so incredibly cozy and homey. I’d stay there in a heartbeat. It tickled my fancy back when you first showed the dirty old coop.
With that view, who cares about unpainted floor and walls. A lovely spacious studio.
Looks fabulous! That picture window is amazing!! Wowzer. And you have a loom. I didn’t know you are a Weaver. So many talents. Great job with the studio prep for your visitor.
Good job. This looks tidy and pleasant to me, so yes, indeed, I’d stay. Perhaps your next venture should be a short ranch-stay program.
I remember the start-to-finish progress you put on the blog as you transformed the old chicken coop to a wonderful studio. What a great place for you, and for an occasional visitor (human that is, not a turkey or steer!!). Yes, I’d definitely enjoy staying there and going outside at night to see all the stars.
Thanks for being such a dedicated reader all these years…
Geeze Carol, HOW do I become one of your hunters? Your studio is Sooooooooooo much nicer than my 9×9 Bear Proof tent (so named because it will barely stop a good breeze and one side lists quite a bit bcuz some poles got bent under a snow load years ago chasin elk around… couldn’t even slow down a couple feet of snowfall!) I inherited it from my gramps (I’m 72)…
So you can well imagine what a luxurious upgrade your studio looks to be…. Heck, you sure wouldn’t even need to dust for me…. A dry spot for my cot and two duffle bags is all I need… I’m Really Low Maintenance thata way….!
When I die (lotta debate about which way I’m headed, but!) I’m moving to Wyo Fur Shure!!! Been trying to sell the idea to my wife for some years now, but she sez “no place colder than here” (Western OR).
Yeah, he’s pretty stoked he gets to stay there… No plumbing but it just reinforces the “roughing it” vibe.
Yes I would!! looks good!
love it.. and yes.. that photo out the window is a beauty. Puzzle maybe??
Love the shot out the open window!
I LOVE this space. I very nice She-Shed! Every woman needs her own space, much like the Man Cave.
And I’d live there too! Nice job!
