Another Piece

Posted on October 13, 2020October 13, 2020

Thank you all.

One more piece of my heart waiting at the gate for me.

Eden. As in “Garden Of”.

I’m not the only one suffering… other people… and another dog…

Bravo and Eden used to play and wrestle on the way to the chicken coop every night. Last night he stuck to my heels… and whined. Poor boy. He’s lost and lonely and scared and has some small tire scratches on his legs. I’m so very lucky I didn’t lose both of them.

Be patient, Eden… I’ll be at the gate someday… to be surrounded by golden fur and one wiggly butt amongst all the others.

Seeing how dogs grieve is especially hard. Thank goodness Bravo has only some scratches on his legs. The scratches on his heart will take longer to heal, but they will.
    RIP, Eden, wonderful girl.

Seeing your other dog grieve just adds to the heartache, I know from experience. So sorry for your loss. She was so beautiful.

Seeing the remaining dog grieve just adds to the heartache, as I well know. My dog, Greta, would look all around for Lincoln, after he was killed on the road, and would walk to his grave and sniff his scent for a long time. Her posture was so much like Bravo’s, just sad despair.
    So sorry for your loss.

Thinking of you as you go about each day with a trusted friend missing. Give Bravo lots of love and hugs.

How fortunate I must consider myself for losing the wonderful dogs in my life due to old age illness (and ultimately The Decision). An accident (I suspected as much) is all the more painful to bear. I am deeply sorry for what you and yours are going through and send you heartfelt healing thoughts, including for young Bravo (trusting the scrapes will heal and hoping he will then be as good as new). Be extra kind to yourselves, dear Greet Family. Lovely Eden will be fondly remembered here, too. Thank you for sharing.
