Well, I never got to hang my witch decoration for Halloween… remember her? You can see her HERE. I was doubly determined, then, that I should hang a wreath for Christmas.
We usually are gifted a natural wreath from a hunter who owns a greenhouse in Wisconsin… but it hadn’t arrived yet. I have three fake pine wreaths, though they have seen better days and are rather on the smallish side.
I decided to go walkabout to see what the former rancher here had in his junk piles. It honestly didn’t take but a minute to figure out what I could use. Neat piles of stacked rusty barbed wire adorn this place. Rolling barbed wire up into tidy coils is a talent few people have these days… including me… but the rotten wire was perfect for what I had in mind.
Add solar lights, a big bow… ta-da!
OK, maybe hanging it with chain is overkill, but experience tells me that the thin wire I used for my witch was not adequate. Wire in wind, blowing back and forth, eventually breaks. If that chain breaks, we’re in big trouble.
I just realized I need another photo… I also hung garland and poinsettias on the gate… and with snow now… shoot! I’ll try to grab a pic tomorrow. At least, it’s there!

Great! Very fitting for a cattle ranch. You have such talent.
Looks great!
Like it. Perfect for a ranch. Hanging it looks like it would have been a challenge.
