For this Throwback Thursday, it’s Baby Calf Walk. As newborn calves are born in the calving shed, they are soon moved outside to make room for the next calving mother. That means we will walk them on their staggering hooves, through snow, when they have no idea how to simply walk, much less follow their mothers, across a ditch and to the protection of some bushes on the other side.
We will be repeating this process in a few weeks.
For now, enjoy the baby calf walk and the momma cow’s low and throaty “meh” as she talks to her baby.

A very reluctant #69. Glad Mama and baby got there in the end.
and soon that calf will be running and “bucking” like a big boy or girl! A sure sign of Spring when calves start hitting the ground-
