No Words and Wednesday

Posted on February 24, 2021February 24, 2021

I knew it.
I wanted you to understand the chances.

I thought we were over the hump and maybe in to clear sailing.

I had even mentioned it to our vet yesterday, The Good Doctor, who was pleased as punch, and just as thrilled as I was.
But reality is a … well, you can finish that phrase.

After videoing Valentino and sharing his pic with you last night, Vernon fed him in the evening. This morning, as I readied myself for work, Vernon returned from his first visit with the little squirt. “How’s Valentino this morning?” I cheerily chirped.
A big sigh escaped as a response.

“Dead.”

“What?” My heart fell.

My poor little guy. He tried so hard to live. There was nothing to say, no words… just a sweet little memory.

I know personally how heartbreaking this is, the ones you try the hardest to save are the ones that you never forget. Sometimes you just have to remember it wasn’t meant to be and know that you did all you could❤️ And continue on…

So sorry for your loss of Valentino. He was a fighter and so were you.

My heart just aches to hear this. It feels like grief, and I never even met the little guy. I am sure that despite all of the losses you experience as ranchers, this one feels especially hard. Rest in peace, little Valentino.

A saddening disappointment, after all of your efforts and Valentino’s struggle. I am sorry it turned out this way.

So sorry to hear this. He and you fought so hard, but in his last days he was happy, loved and cared for. Have fun Valentino in your new life beyond.
