In between riding and haying and repairing and building… we’re gonna have a party! Now Johnny had a birthday party planned back in December, when his birthday truly was… but we had to cancel it. His daughter and her husband are here on vacation from California… and it’s time to party!
It’ll be here at my place, so today, with the rain (yes, RAIN!) we began some preparations. Megan and Victoria hung some of my Christmas lights up… with more to go…
I began to sweep the top layer off of things and slightly reorganize some other things. Now, I know better than to move these things very far or put them where *I* think is the right place for the part/bolt/tool/supply/canofwhatever things… I just move it a foot, sweep under it, and hope the guys will have time to come actually organize the *whatevers*.
While we were busy here, with occasional help from five kids… C. And T. were busy in my kitchen cranking out a big batch of cookies.
I’m getting mildly worried about food… I just thought we might have a few snacks, and hoped that people would see the part on the poster about “no gifts, just bring yourself, and snacks and drinks to share”… though I should know that no one reads signs… my food list is growing! I’m getting paranoid about not having enough food!
The “local” group of Old Time Fiddlers will be playing from 6-9 pm. Johnny travels to almost all of their dates around the Big Horn Basin, so they’re thrilled about playing for his 90+ birthday party!
It’s back to some cow work tomorrow, but don’t doubt that we’ll be using our spare moments in the next few weeks to get ready for Johnny’s party!

My heart will be with you, he is one special man.
Oh this will be such a special party for Johnny. Hope all the baking goes well.
Sounds like the plans for this milestone for Johnny are coming along just fine. Congratulations to him. The Old Time Fiddlers will be very special and entertaining.
90th birthdays are to be celebrated any time during the year. Johnny is amazing. Don’t worry about the food (ha ha). It’ll be a great party. Wish I could come.
Congratulations on the rain.
