Another early morning… we had left the batch of cows in a lot across the highway from my place yesterday. This morning we gathered them, ran them across the highway, then penned and sorted them in the corral. Our plan was to separate the cows and calves and then truck them up the mountain.
In the dust, we sorted. The wind was blowing about 23 mph… creating wonderful working conditions in the dry corral. (That’s sarcasm, in case you didn’t catch that). Nevertheless, we continued on until done… in good time for the trucks to show.
We sat in the lee of a shed, enjoying the respite from the wind’s attack.
Huh.
Our truckers are always early or spot on time… we thought maybe they’d gone to the other place by mistake. Vernon walks to the house to call and we follow… We’re curious and we all had the same desire to be entirely out of the wind.
oops.
For the first time ever, we got our wires crossed. The truckers thought we were doing this tomorrow!
Well, nothing to do but turn the cows and calves out and trail them to the small hay lot. We’ll do it all over again tomorrow but this time we can count on the truckers arriving!

Maybe less wind tomorrow.
Oops indeed. Hopefully tomorrow will go easier as you’ve done it before!!!!
No matter what the weather, I bet Bravo is happy doing his job to help you!
