That’s Tess on the left, finishing another half marathon. She ran this one in Ten Sleep Canyon last year too, but this time I actually got to see her finish! Jaxon, Lacee, and Reagan were there as well, having spent the night at my house to avoid an even earlier morning rush.
Afterwards, I had the kids help me pick more chokecherries while Tess rested. Reagan didn’t remember doing this last year, but she was the most enthusiastic and productive kid! If I could bend a branch down to her, she’d pick 99% of them. Once I told her to leave a few for the birds, she accepted that all those she dropped could be for the birds as well! She’s a thinker!
When we have chokecherry syrup on our pancakes this winter, hopefully, she’ll remember this day!
Find me here!
What are chokecherries? Are they only found in Wyoming?
Thanks for sharing.
I remember my grandmother’s chokecherry jelly – it was my favorite! Hadn’t thought about that memory in a long time! thanks!
What are chokeberries?
How exciting for you and Tess’s kids to see her finish the race. How far is a ‘half marathon’? And Reagan certainly seems to enjoy being your helper!
Well done Tess. Yep, you deserve that rest. Lovely photo of Reagan ..
