Posted on September 5, 2021September 5, 2021

Here’s a quick video to answer a question from a couple of weeks ago… After I posted a Throwback Thursday post telling about breaking a fancy headstall and ruining my day… many of you wanted to know, “What is a headstall?”

Thank you for a great video and explanation of Panama’s bridle.

Thanks for the explanation, but it raised another question in my mind. If they step on the reins and break the slobber strap, doesn’t that leave you with a loose horse, or is the assumption that the break will be on only one side? And the slobber strap is supposed to break before the headstall?

Yes, the slobber strap should break first. You might have a loose horse, but most of ours are very easy to catch!

Seeing and listening to the explanation about all the parts of your bridle sure was fun and interesting! Much better than reading about it.
Thanks. Give some extra oats to Panama for being so patient!

Very nice explanation Carol! I also took note how smart Bravo was to lay in the shade Panama was providing! You have wonderful animals!
