18 pints of tomatoes, 10 cups of Hatch green chilis (and some saved for fresh), lots of tomato juice that I hope to make into a spicy V8 imitation… and more tomatoes peeled that I gave to Megan, because… whew.
Plus Reagan and I cleaned and refilled the hot tub for winter while everyone else had a wonderful time on the mountain moving the heifers. I feel like going up there by myself now since fall on the mountain is one of my favorite things… maybe me and my camera and Bravo? Oh, wait… there’s calves to be weighed and moved… It’s always something!

Gosh what a lot of tomatoes and hard work. You’ll be glad of them when the WY winter arrives. I’m with you on the ride into the mountains with your camera and Bravo. Trees here in Middle England are still mostly green, just the odd red or gold showing through. However, the weather is certainly into autumn/fall and rain coats are needed when out and about.
Okay. I’m tired now. Those canned tomatoes look gorgeous! Congratulations.
Cleaning out the hot tub for winter means emptying it so it won’t freeze and cleaning it so it won’t be dirty, right. Remember, I’m in Southern California where we don’t have cold… just heat and fires.
I empty and refill it twice a year. It’s better to keep it heating through the winter so nothing freezes. We use it until it get to 20 degrees or cooler! Colder than that and I’m not tough enough!
