Much like last week’s video, this one covers only a single day… the memorable day my sister and I took Quinlan and Jaxon to Hell’s Half Acre, Fort Caspar, and the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center.
I know I shared many photos of this fun and educational day… but I always like the videos the best!
Hell’s Half Acre: geologic site with amazing formations. Used to be a cafe and tourist stop here, but nothing anymore… was used to shoot the <amazing> movie “Stormship Troopers”. The spider scene… yecch.
Fort Caspar: Named after young Lt. Caspar Collins who was killed at the Battle of Platte Bridge Station. They couldn’t name it Fort Collins, since it had already been named for his father… and in true bureaucratic style, the city was misnamed CaspEr, not Caspar. Sweet little museum and grounds.
National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. Right off the interstate and well worth a stop.Find me here!
