Cold and Crafts

Posted on February 21, 2022February 21, 2022

The temperature has been in the single digits most of the day, with snowfall of about 3”. Right now, we’re setting at -3 with a 3 mile per hour wind. I’ll certainly take it over the 99 mph wind gust measured down along I-25 today! Tomorrow’s high is supposed to be 3. Definitely not pleasant.

The guys and Tess are checking our heifers every two hours. So far, we’ve been lucky and nothing has calved in this frigid weather.

I babysat for a bit today, creating origami airplanes with the boys and starting the girls on some embroidery. Somehow, these kids have figured out that I’ll help with whatever craft they bring along… and I can even add to their supplies by dragging out my own!

I know I still have a tiny purse I made in Brownies a hundred years ago… and once they get a couple of more stitches figured out, I may have to let them make one!

Doing crafts is always fun and relaxing. Sounds like staying indoors was the right thing to do today. Brr!

Lovely to see the girl’s crafting. So much fun can be had while creating.

What a sweet picture, these three seem completely immersed (?) in their endeavor. Your grandkids are so very fortunate to grow up in this way and place! I’m sure you could even get me to try my hand at embroidery. 🙂
I hope you get much better calving weather soon.
(I’m forgetting my English at an increasing pace; please let me know when it turns inintelligible!!)
