Spring Jobs

Posted on March 28, 2022March 28, 2022

I awoke to a cloudy morning… and a plan. I’ve neglected my pantry for a while and had decided to reorganize it. Since it doubles as a store room, it wasn’t going to be easy. That room has been a mess since Christmas, as I was determined to haul the majority of my Christmas decorations out to the garage. I had kind of reorganized that part, minus the hauling to the garage but, first, I needed to reorganize the garage!

When Vernon showed up for lunch, I was surprised to see sunshine… nothing like working in a basement to miss the good weather. I decided to change my strategy and work outside before the next storm rolls in tomorrow. I needed to clean out my garden which I hadn’t done last fall.

I set a small patch of leaves on fire. Five minutes later, the wind kicks up and the burning off of weeds had to be cancelled.

Well, the raspberry patch is disgusting… infiltrated with thistles and grass. Honestly, I haven’t harvested enough raspberries off these canes to warrant the space they take up. Oh, well, I’ll try it one more time. They’re in my hugelkultur bed and I love playing in that dark dirt!

The congestion is unreal. I may have to throw a match in the remaining half.

It looks much better after I’m finished.

Funny how those organizing projects are always sort of ‘related’!
