The nice weather the past few days have led me to outdoor work… clearing my garden of last year’s detritus (yesterday) and cleaning and reorganizing my root cellar (today). I’d definitely crawl into my hot tub, but at 39* and 6 mph breeze… it’s a bit chilly.
I pushed myself to accomplish these much needed tasks as, you guessed it, another snowstorm is on its way. Seems we can’t quite shake off winter quite yet. Indoor tasks are easily done in the midst of a snowstorm, so dehydrating eggs, and my organization of my downstairs will be on the agenda when it’s too cold for outside duties.
Calving continues. The guys have been fighting illness in our calves. If the temperature would just remain the same instead of these wide swings… ah, well, if wishes were horses…
Vernon spent the day getting fertilizer on a field. I thank God for the foresight of the men on this ranch, who pre-purchased fertilizer at last fall’s prices instead of paying today’s value.
Daniel and Brandon helped a neighbor brand today. We have just over a week until our first branding… and the beat goes on…

So peaceful soaking in the warm sunshine.
Love the black splotches on his/her little white face.
Clever title! I think we are all ready for spring and some gardening. Hope the little calves and all the Greets stay healthy…with no more snow!
What a beautiful little bald face! That is what you call them right?
God Bless you farmers and ranchers!! And the truckers who haul it across our country!
Thank you for working so hard to provide us with our food!
