I’d like to officially welcome Petunia to the Greet Ranch. Petunia is Tess’ new Jersey milk cow!
There hasn’t been a milk cow on the ranch since Vernon was a kid. One of the first things he told me when we got married, was that we weren’t ever getting a milk cow. Now, I’ve bought fresh milk from neighbors before and loved making butter and yogurt and farmer cheese… but I’ve never wanted a milk cow. The only time I’ve milked a cow was when we had such a horrid case of sunburned tits on our black baldy cows after they’d been kicked out on spring pasture with their calves. We had to slather them with Corona salve and milk our beef cows because they were so sore. That was an experience!
But since Petunia is Tess’, Vernon doesn’t mind, since he won’t have to milk her. I’m excited.

Interesting — a new picture with yesterday’s comments.
Petunia is beautiful. Who will you breed her with so she will continue to give milk? Or is she already bred? Maybe AI?
Reading in bed — how wonderful.
A wonderful sleepover. Happy memories.
