Seems like we’ve been doing a great deal of cow work lately…
This time we shipped a bunch to our mountain pasture and then had to pair them up. We had Quinlan and Lacee and Lorelei along today, and I couldn’t help but spend most of my time watching them.
I always seemed to be across the herd from them. I also took more video than photos… anyway, as we paired them out, the girls were given the job of shushing them along further until the cow and calf went through the gate.
What eight year old girl wouldn’t love to be doing this? I would have been in heaven!
Oh, my goodness! Were they living their best lives, or what? Chattering along, laughing, yelling at dogs or cows, figuring out their horses… it was an afternoon of responsibility and freedom all rolled together.
Great job, kiddos!

Well done to the little people. Good to see them enjoying and learning about life. Most UK kids have one more week of school before summer vacation so fun time has yet to start.
Yeah! Wow! I’d a been in heaven too. Lucky kids.
You help me ‘keep living’ my dream vicariously. Thanks! love all the pics.
