Welcome to Bayer Creek

Posted on July 15, 2022July 15, 2022

We took our cows to a new pasture today. I was dreading it, knowing we might have to trail through another pasture full of cattle. Thankfully, most of those cattle had moved on… so our new trail was a pretty easy drive!

We only had to correct the girls a few times, thankfully, they were willing to follow the road…

Johnny came along and helped Vernon spread salt and mineral out. My three generation photo isn’t the best, but I had to jog and catch up to the cows!

Arriving at the edge of the pasture, it’s quite obvious along the fenceline which pasture has been managed for grazing and which has been neglected. We paired them up and turned them in…

There ya go, girls! Welcome to Bayer Creek!

The difference in pastures is amazing. Over grazing is not good. I wonder if the cows wonder where they’re going when it’s someplace different.

They definitely know where they’re going and will insist on turning the “correct” way… surely, we people have lost our minds and missed the turn!
