Springtime Ranching Video

Posted on July 22, 2022July 22, 2022

With the recent heat, it’s nice to watch the snow in this video from April 1 – 16!

The False Spring continues and I burn a little extra weed patch along my garden fence. I put some grandkids to work, digging, cleaning, and dehydrating what carrots I have left over from winter. My husband works with a sick calf, trying to get it to take some extra colostrum through a bottle but ends up tubing it in. He’s always patient doing this, I’d be much more nervous with a large cow standing behind me! No surprise in April we get a spring blizzard and spend extra time checking on and feeding cattle. The weather turns again, and Easter is fairly nice. I put on a scavenger hunt for the grandkids’ baskets and the kids follow clues to discover the hidden treats. Reagan runs in the Easter Hunt for candy… falling immediately as she takes off running! She gets up and continues on… atta, girl!

A wonderful video. That mama cow must have sensed that Vernon was helping her baby. She was so close keeping a watch on what was going on. Lovely to see Grandkids enjoying the Easter Egg hunt. And that snow!! A beauty all of its own.

This video certainly was extra special, in my book. I have grown much more appreciative of farm and ranch life, by following your blog. And the weather plays such a big part in it all. The Easter egg hunt at the end was perfect!

Thanks for the video! Loved how curious the calf was with you filming.
Thanks to the ranchers and farmers! In all weather you are out working hard to raise our food!
