Hike

Posted on July 24, 2022July 24, 2022

We went for a hike today, looking for a spring. Vernon had been to it years ago and we thought it’d be easy enough to find. There was an old road that would take us close to it.

Trouble was, not much of the road was passable!

Too many downed trees and new growth… it was supposed to be a switchback but when it switched, we lost it!

Under. Over. Steep hillsides. You had to watch your step or twist your ankle!

Then the clouds rolled in and we got soaked. I huffed and puffed and made it back up the hill (why do I think I can hike like I used to?) We then flew the side by side off the hill and missed the big storm!

We will come back and look some other time.

I’m with you Carol. Forget that what I once could do easily, I can’t do now.. Cloud formation is impressive..

I love the sky! So dramatic, but not something to be walking around under.

Oh, we had one, but that was more work than two or three logs… maybe a couple of days worth cutting and dragging.
