So sorry about the failure to post lately, GoDaddy/Wordpress finally figured out my technical difficulties, and I’m good to go once again… I must just need to pay them more money every two years or so!

I’m guessing here… but the possibility exists that some of you readers out there in Blogland LOVE to shop.
Do you hit the malls or boutiques for dresses and shoes?
Are you a bargain hunter or eBay surfer or Etsy aficionada?
Do you shop on your lunch hour or weekends?
The possibility that someone might even shop *DAILY* is probably remote… but I know you’re out there somewhere!
Me?
Not so much!
Shoes? Let’s see I have 5 pairs of cowboy boots, 2 pair of hiking boots, 4 pair of tennis shoes, some snowboots, and 4 dressier pairs I have for work. This is probably the most I’ve ever owned in my life!
Clothes? Neh. I really *HATE* shopping for clothes. I love looking nice, and I *want* to have cool clothes for work, but it’s very hard to find stuff that fits me and then I get mad and then I buy a tshirt and cheap jeans and go home!
But yesterday, I told myself I needed new clothes, so off to Thermopolis I went. Worland is 45 miles away and I found one new shirt there… but I thought I’d try the next town over, another 30 miles! Seventy five miles one way… and I found two shirts.
Woohoo.
Oh, well, I had fun… Thermop (as locals call it) is a good little town to wander around in… especially if you like little antique stores.
Home to the World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs, it’s also a great place for a swim or soak.
The Big Horn River runs right through town…
But what is REALLY cool… Look to the right under the tall cottonwoods.
Three young buffalo bulls. The rest of the herd is in the state park by the “World’s Largest” sign… but ya gotta love a town that can graze buffalo in a pasture with the red brick high school just a stone’s throw away.
The thing I’ve noticed about shopping in Wyoming…
If you’re from a ranch, buzzing 75 miles to town and getting a few shirts is adequate. If you live in a town of 5,000, you’re happy to make it to the town with the population of 20,000. If you’re from an even bigger town, then on up the scale you go! If you have tons of stuff to get in a big variety, just go straight to Billings or Casper or Denver or Rapid City or Salt Lake.
What’s a 4 to 6 hour drive anyway?… we do that to go to a football game!

I do like to shop but can do so without buying as long as there is coffee, cake and family or friends along the way . One thing our CV lockdowns made me realise is that you can reinvent your wardrobe. In my visits to the US I have enjoyed shopping in Ft Collins, CO, Waterloo IA. Mostly with help of my US friend as terminology can be different!!!! And getting use to sales tax, and tipping.
I’m not a fan of shopping either. One of my daughters LOVES to shop and look for bargains; the other one not so much. My mother was a shopper and loved to travel and look in gift shops. We joke that only some of us have the shopping gene.

Happy to say I am getting your posts regularly now. Glad everything is fixed. Shopping – I’m also not much of a shopper any more. Fortunately I think have enough of everything to last the rest of my life as a retiree! But I do occasionally check out eBay for “new old stock.”
Love the 2011 article. Having taken a couple of vacations in your beautiful state, I can imagine shopping is a challenge. I enjoyed an afternoon in Sheridan looking at the shops. One of the shops had people making saddles and other leather goods in the back, where one could watch them.

I am not a shopper either and the older I get get shopping gets much less appealing…..
