The next snow storm arrives tomorrow so Vernon decided to drive to Cody *today* to pick up our order of mineral. Mineral provides supplemental minerals to cattle, improving their health. That sounds very silly, but how else can you say it? Think of it as a “multivitamin”. Buying four pallet loads means you just can’t take the Jeep…
Since you’ve driven all this way, you can’t pass up a stop at Walmart. Besides, they’re almost the only place you can park.
Then you make a spur of the moment decision to buy ice cream, but you’ve forgotten a cooler and it’s 2.5 hours home. It’s 34* with wind chill in the back of the trailer… how does that balance the heat of the sun? Hmmm. Time for a little red neck idea.
Ice cream is tied up in one plastic bag and set inside another plastic bag. I scooped up some cleanish snow from a planter in the parking lot and packed it around the bag with ice cream. It should help, right?
Well, it did make it home. It wasn’t frozen hard, but it wasn’t cookies and cream flavored milk either! I’d say it worked fine. With all the coolers I have around this place, someday I’ll remember to take one along even if we are just going to get mineral!

A great idea to keep the ice cream cold.
As they say, “necessity is the mother of invention”! Great idea, Carol.
A gal has the ingenuity to do anything! AND needs ice cream!! LOL
Good thinking!
