So Many Ways

Posted on February 28, 2023

I tend to leave my housework partially finished because I want to do more exciting things… like craft or build or go help the guys… I’ll never win awards for housekeeping and I do regret that lack of ambition… but I want to be outside and wandering out to see what Vernon is doing in the shop draws me like moth to flame.

This time it was installing a big light bar on the cab of his side by side. He is figuring it might come in handy for checking the cows at night.

I’m no mechanic, but I can fetch and hold and aim the flashlight.

Not long after I arrived, Brandon and Lorelei came by as well. They were enlisted.

Always eager to jump in and help, Lorelei was soon in the middle of it all.

What do you teach little girls? Whatever you can! Hold a tool correctly. Cut here. This is how that works. This is electrical tape. Put that tool back where it belongs. Put these screws in those holes. Get her mind used to figuring how things work.

This can be valuable in so many ways. She’s a lucky girl!

Having some tool skills, and figuring out how things work… or how things
are put together, is a great asset to anyone! Your guys look like careful and patient teachers.

Yes! And no “Girls don’t do that.” It’s great that ALL the grands get to participate in everything.

    Hurrah!!!
