I had so much fun doing this event, even if there weren’t an over abundance of attendees. Everyone received their copy of a ticket to the RMS Titanic, randomly giving them the identity of a real passenger. Crossing the gangplank, they read their background and went to the appropriate steerage for refreshments from basic, hearty food to elegant and fancy. Educational movies and books and trivia and reenactment photos with fan and spray bottle for special effects… throughout the event, shipwide alerts were announced until the horrible “ICEBERG AHEAD!”. I can’t remember everything I had planned for this event, but I worked on it for WEEKS… with no budget! I do remember that the Jackson library did a similar program with a budget including catering and graphic design and posters and they won an award… but mine was done with a Xerox machine and volunteers! Ha! Look at baby Quinlan… far from the tall, lanky 11 year old he is these days!

What a great idea for special event at your library. Took a LOT of research, thought, and planning…even the light-touch of the proper
cookies and candies!
Ten Sleep might have the best little library in Wyoming! What a creative and wonderful event! 🙂
Somehow I misssed seeing the original lpost about this event. I’m so happy you reposted. Your imagination and creativity are exemplary! You and KJ rule, and Ten Sleep benefits. Thanks for the repost.
Love those pictures of you and KJ!
How cool a way to bring history alive! It’s crazy how fast time goes by little Quinlan now riding horses and helping on the ranch!
