I’ll probably get back to some branding photos, or post some new since we’re trying to figure out when to squeeze another small branding in… but today, we moved some pairs from by my house to the home place. It was a chilly and blustery day that started with a skiff of snow on the ground. The mountain was socked in and we knew if the clouds would lift, it would reveal another white layer.
After the typical slight struggle of convincing calves that they should not go back to where they last saw their mom, young cows that they should keep track of their babies, and older cows that, they do indeed, have calves even when hungry… we managed to hold them up. Giving them even more time to eat and find each other.
I was pretty happy with Bravo’s work. He turned many a calf and cow around. While not aggressive enough to bite something that’s looking at him, he *flies* when chasing something. He is amazingly light on his feet. Indy was there, but was content to ride with me in the sxs and I don’t push puppies towards momma cows… she’ll grow into it.
We managed to sit there on the highway and catch up on ranch details and plans. I left shortly thereafter to go set up the library for our big tea party event tomorrow. The guys had to finish without me. Bravo was not impressed that we left!
Find me here!
Wonderful view of an empty road. Not many with a view and no traffic in Middle England. Well done Bravo and others on all your hard work.
Mangia and move! 🙂
Great pics! You must be so proud of your guys and Bravo!
