Recharge

Posted on June 27, 2023

It’s that time again…

We trailed our first bunch to the Slope Pasture today. Four cowkids and three cowboys for most of the trip. The majority of the time we stop halfway at the Mesa Pasture, but not this time. It’s twice as far and then there’s mothering them up at the end…

The cowkids hang in there really good for most of the ride and they’re becoming handier each time they ride out. Though, I admit, a few times I told them something that was met with blank stares like I was speaking Chinese. Well, more miles and months in the saddle will help that!

Thankfully, it was a cloudy and cool day… easier on cattle, horses, dogs, and kids!

A fairly good time pairing them out…

Then, in this modern day and age, lunch appears and kids recharge their batteries.

Mission accomplished.

I enjoyed the scenery – much greener than usual against the red rocks
and black cattle. Always love the horses, and think the cowkids are really
    doing a great job!

I enjoyed the photo of the kids eating lunch together in the shade of the vehicle. Just chill-axin without a cell phone in sight.
