With Longmire Days coming up in Buffalo next week, reposting this seemed like the right thing to do! This was first posted July 14, 2012.
Tonight was the Craig Johnson “Cowboy Up” Fundraiser for the Washakie County Library Endowment. Money raised here will be matched 3:1 by the State of Wyoming.
Donate $10, the state will match it with $30, and a total of $40 goes into the endowment to keep the libraries going.
You can’t beat a deal like that.
To help, we invited author Craig Johnson to speak to us.
He did.
It looks like we stuck him way out in the field next to Ten Sleep Creek… but, honestly, we had a good turnout of 125 people!
See?
The rain held… too, bad for the country, but perfect for a speaking engagement!
Mr. Johnson is an excellent and entertaining speaker… and a kind man. He donated two Absaroka County Sheriff caps to my baskets… which he did not have to do! Plus he’s handling the autographing of my Red Dirt Shirts… which leads me to another expression of gratitude to Lou Diamond Phillips for offering… he’s a classy act as well!
Speaking of baskets… my Longmire basket brought $135… my Henry Standing Bear basket brought over $100 as well! (last time I looked it was at $100, then I lost track!)
So to all of you who bid and also showed some interest, THANK YOU! With the matching funds, we raised about $1000 off of my two little baskets!
A good time was had by all…
See?
Proof!

Looking forward to posts on this years Longmire Days. I’ll have to wait till December (?) to get new book on my Kindle. Lovely to look back at earlier LDs.
Shows yet again what we folks in the big cities miss in the way of camaraderie.
Looks like a good time was had by all.
Congratulations on another great fund-raiser for the library, and selling
some of your artistic items.
