Finally! FINALLY! All of our cows are out of the heat and bugs of the flats where it reached 96° today and up on top of the Big Horn Mountains, where I don’t t know the temperature, but I can testify it was cooler!
Instead of dumping the cows in our corral and trailing them half a mile back to this pasture, we tried unloading them at the actual gate to the pasture and pairing them through. As you can see, the road’s not that wide, but we gambled there wouldn’t be much traffic. 9 out of 10 times, we wouldn’t see a soul, but sure enough…
We had a pickup pulling a sxs trailer, and a lone sxs, followed by a logging truck! Sorry folks! It wasn’t really that much of a delay… our two semi’s were quickly unloaded and then they were free to drive through the cows as we held them.
It looked a little tight…
But they scooted on through, including the two semis that had hauled our cows once they had turned around. After pairing them through the gate, we ate lunch in the shade of the horse trailers and had to scootch up close when two pickups went by! Some days we can be up there and not see another vehicle….
Oh, those Wyoming traffic jams!
Find me here!
These pictures were terrific! Everyone, including the cows, cooperated
well. Things could have been worse in this heat.
I like how interested the cows look. “What is all that?”
Oh my gosh! Now that is funny! The cows looked surprised too
