While we were working on the electric fence, Brandon was off processing the newborn calves. We don’t check on the cows at night like we do the heifers. Labor problems are not a huge concern and they’ve all had calves before… so, excepting blizzard conditions… they are on their own at night. Vernon will check for new babies first thing in the morning, as will Brandon and Daniel will have eyes on everyone as he feeds. What was born one day, will be tagged the next. That’s Brandon’s job and anyone he might have along to help…
This weekend, it was Quinlan and Lorelei. Quinlan is big enough now to hold these babies down as Brandon does his thing. Jekyll rides along but doesn’t dismount the four wheeler. They’re quite the crew!
A great working team.
Go, kiddos!
