Divide and Conquer

Posted on May 5, 2024

Now that the majority of our cows are out on their own, it’s time to divide and conquer more farming type chores… our weather remains unsettled… a few nice warm springlike days followed by cold and wind and a snowstorm or two, but, yes, farming is upon us.

Daniel makes repairs to the sprayer…

Vernon has been working on a water project. We’ve borrowed a friend’s pipe trailer for unspooling big black coils of pipe… but Vernon thought maybe we should have our own. Since it’s occasionally been too muddy to work on the pipeline (with rain predicted tomorrow again), he started to “remodel” an old snowmobile trailer.

To that end, Brandon has been cutting and welding pieces for our pipe trailer.

I told him to build taller legs for that welding table!

Me? I planted 20 aspen trees and 20 elderberries and 20 chokeberries (aronia). No, I did not take a picture. Honestly, I’ll be happy if any survive… but I will have given it a good shot! Pictures will follow if any do put on growth… they all have pink flagging tape on them so I can find them again!

I’d say you worked equally hard as the guys, planting all those trees and plants! Hope the grow really well, and I hope the new invention works
    out for Vernon. Happy Monday.!
