Work

Posted on July 12, 2024

You know you’ve been working as a family for days when kids’ photos start looking like this…

Quinlan:

Asleep on the hard, hot flatbed…

Lorelei:

Asleep on the four wheeler while trucks are being loaded.

Reagan:

Asleep in my mini truck while we were pairing out… (and, yes, it is a blurry photo…)

I know the other two grandkids probably fell asleep, too… there’s just no visual evidence. Early mornings and working hard translates into a great work ethic as they mature.

As my good friend P. warned me when I first got married… “Cows come first.” On occasion, I still struggle with that lesson… and it’s one the kids are learning…

Naps are different when they’re not mandated. Lucky kids, they get to nap!

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
