Bravo urging on a calf.
I’m usually aware of dogs in photographs, especially English Shepherd types. I am reading a local history book as my “Wyoming” book for this month’s Pronghorn Reads Challenge. That’s a statewide monthly reading challenge promoted by Wyoming Humanities. It’s a good little book, full of bits and pieces that are close to Ten Sleep.

This dog looks much like Indiana… just lacking the white.
While many horses are lovingly described in this book, dogs aren’t mentioned much. There is one story though, about a “collie” dog (English Shepherds were often referred to as ‘farm collies’), who saved a little boy’s life by holding him by the seat of his pants as he was ready to toddle down to a flood swollen creek. It wouldn’t have been this dog… but it’s still fun to see the photo and hear the story about possible English Shepherds.

I wonder if I could get it on some sort of interlibrary loan.
My husband and I are privileged to know this man. I own this book and have read it often. Hi to the Davis girls.
That’s my Dad that wrote this little book about his growing up years in Ten Sleep. Such a fun surprise to see this come across my Facebook feed.
Sounds like an interesting local-history book with some nods to the wonderful for the farm collie (English Shepherd). Sure looks a lot like Indy!
