Work Day

Posted on September 16, 2024

I spent the night up on the mountain and totally forgot to post anything until I was almost to my destination and there’s no service up there, so I apologize.
Today we pregnancy tested our heifers.

Vernon and I worked at pushing the girls up the alley, most of the time, it’s not a high stress job.

Daniel runs the hydraulic chute and applies the pour-on wormer. Brandon double checks the readability of their bangs tattoo in their ear and vaccinates them. Tess is busy with paperwork, confirming they got pregnant with AI or writing down their due date if not.

Megan and our friend, L., bring up bunches from out of the corral.
It was a gorgeous day, almost too hot without the cloud cover. It was an easy enough work day, getting us in shape for next week when we preg test our cows!

Tonight was a surprise… a bit of northern lights with a full moon that with a ten second exposure makes it look like daytime out there!

The Northern Lights – what a special “gift” after a hard day’s work!
