No Thyme

Posted on December 17, 2024

You know when you’re looking for something and it drives you nuts because you can’t find it? In my case, it was thyme. That wonderful spice that I need for my “pork loin in plum sauce” that I will be cooking for Christmas. I thought I had some. I knew I had some.

So I tore into my spice cabinet. Then I have one of those horrid corner base cabinets that is very narrow but very deep. The kind you have to practically crawl into to reach the back.

Well, guess what? My kneeling and crawling mode is currently dysfunctional. I levered myself down on a stool and did the best I could to reach into that cabinet. I pulled out spices. Old. New. Small jars. Large containers. I pitched a lot. I combined jars. I wrecked two entire cabinets.

In all of that mess… no thyme.

Not a smidge.

I guess this is one way to ‘tidy up’ your cupboard!! But a familiar story for many housewives.

Haha! Isn’t that the way it goes! A good way to clean out the old in the search
