Looking Forward

Posted on January 28, 2025January 28, 2025

I suppose it must be like birthdays… the more you have of them, the less important they seem to be.
I missed my blogoversary on January 20th. Here I am, still here, plugging away since 2008. I’m starting my seventeenth year? That’s rather unbelievable, although, I might have said that every year.

I look back on so much LIFE. My kids going to and returning from college. Three marriages. Eight grandchildren. The loss of my mom and Vernon’s dad. The loss of many a good dog. Changes for the ranch, the loss of some ground, the addition of other. Cows, calves, heifers, steers, and bulls. New equipment, new toys, new dogs. Illness and injury. Remodels and new builds. Oh, and crafts. Lots and lots of crafts!

All along, I took my cameras. I have a drawerful of them, most in working order but with dust spots on the lenses. I have one good camera, a pocket camera that I use the most, and my iPhone. I’ve lost track of the number of photographs. But here’s to many more years of documenting this life. I’m looking forward to it!

Thank you for all the ranching, crafting and family life you have shared over the years. I only found you in 2014, but enjoyed going back to pre 2014 posts.

Thanks so much, Carol. I’ve enjoyed your blog for I’m not sure how many years, but the English shepherds were a big part, and I think your kids were in college. Keep up the good work and know I’m reading most days. (I catch up on the days I miss, so I don’t really miss any.) And every year I remember that January 20 was my dad’s birthday. Happy Blogday.

I’ve enjoyed coming along on the journey you’ve blogged for many years now. Happy to know you’re enjoying it as well, and looking forward to continuing on “the ride” with you and your family.

Thank you Carol for sticking with it! I look forward to seeing your blog in my email. The photos of that beautiful western sky and following your ranch life.
