With the holiday and work, I’m falling behind on my posts!
After the parade,

we strolled through the craft fair. Then we decided to try to eat at Deerhaven Lodge up on the mountain. Anything on the mountain sounds good when you avoid the heat down below! My sister and brother-in-law were keeping us company. I had halfway planned to go to the rodeo to see Lacee do her princess duties… but we decided to tour around instead. They had never seen the Battle Park area and it had been years since we’ve driven up there, so off we went into the Big Horn National Forest along with quite a few other people! It was a busy holiday weekend up there!
I enjoyed myself and forgot to take photos except of the cluster of columbines…

and, of course, elk!

Then it was back down into the heat for ice cream from Dirty Sally’s while the thunderstorm blew through town.
Years ago, I would have begging to go to the street dance, but Vernon was in bed when I got back from locking up my chickens… ah, well…. Victoria and boys wouldn’t be here til the fifth, so no fireworks for us on the fourth. Overall, a fairly cool and relaxing Fourth. I can’t complain!
A “cool” day in the mountains and park. And a “cool” bunch of vintage
cars and trucks for a “hot” parade. Glad everyone had a fun time.
The cool air of the mountain sound so good on a hot day.
