Though yesterday the smoke was blowing north, today the smoke surrounded us.

It would get even worse than this. The Red Canyon Fire has jumped to 91,581 acres earlier today. Though it began over by Thermopolis, it’s expanded to get close to the Nowater Road which is on the edge of some neighbor’s pastures and then beyond them, our badlands pastures. It doesn’t mean it will happen but Vernon is discussing ideas for proactive measures if things don’t look good.
We’re checking the internet for updates, keeping an eye on things.

Indy and Bravo kept an eye on Victoria as she helped gather cows yesterday.

This month brings lots of cow work… and, we pray, no fire.

The Red Canyon fire took 90% of our dear friends, Jim and Terry Wilson, the V Ranch’s winter grazing, also took Reeds; is now threatening Bairds, Axtels, the Nowater properties, Lungrens. They are all trying to be proactive creating backburns on their own private properties. My heart goes out to all of the ranchers fighting for their livelihoods. Please be safe.
Keeping you all in my prayers.
Praying for y’all!
Fingers crossed
We are having monsoon in the Minneapolis area. I so wish we could send it to you and others with fires and explosive conditions.
