Suggestions?

Posted on September 29, 2025September 29, 2025

It must just be his bad side because this guy is pretty handsome…

This is my new rooster, courtesy of Victoria. Out of her chicks, 3 turned out to be roosters. I haven’t had a rooster for a couple of years, so I’m giving it a try again. The cost of chicks has gone up and if I still have a broody hen in the spring, I’ll be happy! Not that that plan has always worked out, but I could always use an incubator.

I do need some ideas for names though! He’s a red blue laced Wyandotte and he does have a bit of attitude. Give me your ideas in the comments!

How about Wy— short for Wyoming Wyandotte and “Why did I do this?”

In my experience, ‘Mr. Mean’ will be appropriate…!
And might I recommend a 3′ piece of 2×2 as an ‘Attitude Adjuster’

I always use “you son-of-a-b*tch, I’m going to punt you into next week” To my mind, it captures the personality of the rooster. YMMV
