To put the water pump in the canyon away for the winter sounds easy enough… disconnect this and that, pull the pump and pipe out of spring high water danger, and a few minor adjustments…

Getting there is the difficult part.

One tree had fallen, taking another with it. Never fear, Vernon was prepared. Chain saw in hand, minutes later, sawn, winched, and tossed out of the way, the tree was no longer a barrier.

All ahead, full! The only thing slowing us down… was… nothing. I took photos at almost every crossing, at full speed, hoping to capture some of late fall colors that decorated each. The same colors, the same ingredients of chokecherry, willow, fir, and unknown shrubs, the water, and moss covered stones… each tableaux different, each view magnificent. I love this journey!

Fall Journey’ evokes a sense of transition, both in nature and within oneself, as it captures the essence of autumn’s transformative beauty. The journey begins with the vibrant explosion of colors—crimson, amber, and gold—as leaves detach from their branches, painting the landscape in a fleeting masterpiece. This seasonal shift mirrors personal growth, where letting go becomes a necessary step toward renewal. The crisp air carries a hint of nostalgia, inviting reflection on the passing year while whispering promises of change. Each step through rustling leaves underfoot symbolizes movement forward, even as the world around seems to retreat into dormancy. The journey is marked by contrasts: warmth in the fading sunlight, stillness amidst the falling foliage, and solitude that fosters introspection. It is a time to embrace impermanence, to find beauty in decay, and to trust in the cycles of life. ‘Fall Journey’ is not just a passage through nature’s metamorphosis but a reminder that endings are often the prelude to new beginnings, urging us to walk forward with hope and resilience
