Throwback Thursday: Helpful Tip, v.2.0

Posted on January 29, 2026January 29, 2026

This was first posted January 30, 2016.

When moving cows along a road… should you desire to split them… I have the technique for you to try.

First, get your horse herd to stand in the middle of the road.  Now, how you accomplish this is up to you… ours seemed to be well trained at this!

horse meet

It was a standoff!

The boys stopped their four wheelers… the horses didn’t move.

Then, slowly…

horse meet

The cows continue on their way… splitting out into the sagebrush.

The horses continue to hold their ground.

That’s it.  A perfect split.  I give the horses an 8.5 for technique.  The cows received only a 7 since they took some encouraging to get back on the road.  Feel free to use this handy tip should you ever need to split your herd while going down a road.  I’m here to help.

Throwback Thursday: Helpful Tip, v.2.0 revisits the timeless practice of reflecting on the past to enhance the present. In today’s fast-paced world, taking a moment to revisit old strategies, lessons, or tools can unlock unexpected value. For instance, revisiting handwritten notes from years ago might reveal forgotten insights or ideas that align with current challenges. Similarly, re-evaluating outdated workflows with a modern lens can inspire innovative solutions. This updated version of the throwback concept encourages not just nostalgia, but active repurposing. Whether it’s dusting off an old hobby, revisiting a discarded project, or reapplying a once-successful technique, the key is to adapt and refine. Technology also plays a role: digitizing old resources or leveraging AI to analyze past data can breathe new life into stale information. The essence of *v.2.0* lies in evolution—taking what worked (or didn’t) and transforming it into something relevant and impactful today. By embracing this mindset, Throwback Thursday becomes more than a social media trend; it’s a strategic tool for growth, creativity, and problem-solving in both personal and professional spheres
