Stress

Posted on March 13, 2026March 13, 2026

With all the great weather, Vernon had continued projects while letting everyone else handle calving the heifers. I, of course, went with him to the project in the badlands. Then, we found out that the National Award the library won was going to take some work and I went in to figure out things.

I usually work just two days a week at the library, but I was in for multiple days. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all fun, as we struggled finding photos and videos and uploading them to be used. I had never used Dropbox and then links didn’t work and things were too large and then it was just NO FUN. I finally emailed and cried to the people who instantly answered questions and helped my blood pressure!

After of over a week of racking my brain, trying to figure things out, we managed to get everything submitted on time and they haven’t emailed saying nothing will work… so… YAY! But with all that being said… I seemed to have missed calving season with the heifers. I think I helped clean two pens and watched them pen a few…

The cows are calving, so it’s not like I won’t be around baby calves, but I seemed to have missed the heifer babies! It’s usually such a stressful time, I don’t know what I’m complaining about! I had enough stress at the library!

Stress comes from many places and never seems to be in short supply. Yay for getting the library things sorted and yay to the mother cows who knew what to do and I’m sure had help if needed.
