Throwback Thursday: More Spit Than Bubbles, v.2.0

Posted on March 26, 2026March 26, 2026

I find myself longing for the Good Old Days… this was first published March 29, 2016.

Sometimes life is Pretty Darn Good.

Lacee

Things seem to go along as planned…

Oh, sure, once in a while things crop up that pose challenges.

Jaxon

But nothing that a little hard work won’t eventually overcome.

If you think about it… LIFE’S GREAT!  and pretty cool.

Quin

Even if there’s more spit than bubbles.

Remember those great, glorious times…

And when you get backed into that Tight Spot…

Just come out the other side.

And take on the world anyway.

And, if you’re lucky, and the Good Lord smiles…

You might just win a giant duck… and get to say “cheese” with candy in your mouth.

This was such a delightful and nostalgic read. The way you captured the humor and unpredictability of that moment really brings the memory to life—especially the vivid contrast between expectation and reality hinted in the title itself. I appreciate how your storytelling balances lighthearted reflection with authentic, lived experience, making it both entertaining and relatable. It’s posts like this that remind readers how even the smallest, messiest moments can become the most memorable stories over time. Thank you for sharing such a genuine slice of life with your audience.
