Looking Good

Posted on July 13, 2026July 13, 2026

Haying season continues… even Jaxon and Quinlan have been pitching in. Brandon has been baling at night, trying to catch more humidity so the plants don’t just shatter to pieces from being soooo dry.

It remains in the Super Hot, Dry, Windy category, with a high of 101* here with 14% humidity. The big cumulus clouds still build up in the afternoon though nothing falls out of them.

I was along when Vernon refilled the baler with twine. If you ever get a chance to go watch a YouTube video about square balers, do it! Especially how someone created a knot tying machine. How do you do that????

You tie the balls one to the other, so that as one is finished, it begins on the next ball seemlessly. I’m always fascinated by people that create machines, even if I’m not mechanically inclined.

Three out of the four haying tractors were posing for their Summertime Sunshine Series… the baler, the rake and the trailer to haul the bales to the stackyard. Looking good.

Looking good, and interesting commentary. Thanks!
Hot and dry here, too. We’re right on Montana ND line. Reached 110 yesterday, low 100s today.
