Pipeline

Posted on November 1, 2026November 1, 2026

Have I mentioned the pipeline?

Our irrigation ditch is being replaced by a pipeline. Vernon has been working on it for a couple of weeks between cows and other stuff. It’s quite a stretch… with barely any drop. I decided to help today…

My job was to shovel the dirt under the very bottom so there won’t be voids.

I can admit it, I haven’t shoveled this much dirt in forever. Tonight I’m sore and tired, but oh, boy, we got some work done!

Vernon has even rented a bigger excavator since there’s so much dirt to move. Our little excavator is quite the machine but it takes three scoops to the one of the big Cat.

It doesn’t help when a track comes loose.

What a project.
