Fun Time

Posted on August 27, 2021August 27, 2021

It’s been a couple of weeks, but I had to share one of the most fun days…

I grew up hunting and fishing… but I gave up hunting since I have a freezer full of beef… and I gave up fishing since Vernon doesn’t like eating fish (and I’m too lazy to cook fish for me and something else for him). But fishing is FUN… and though I try to take the grandkids fishing on occasion, I spend all my time getting lures unstuck and working all the knots out in fishing line and keeping kids from falling in the creek and on the rocks.

So when I planned a day touring some friends around, we came prepared to do some fishing at the end of the tour. After a delicious tailgate lunch by L. …

… I drove the side by side back just a bit and R. jumps out. I started filming and 50 seconds later, he had a nice little Brown trout.

Crossing the creek, trying multiple fishing holes… even some from the seat of the side by side!

We caught and released a few… laughing all the time. And, yes, I had to wade out and get my own lure unstuck!

Thanks R. and L. for the fun time… we’ll do it again someday!

Supper, probably not unless they spent some time, but did everyone catch some? When I fished as a kid we used salmon eggs and the occasional fly.

That’s a truly fun day – friendship, fishing, and food! Hope you took a trout or two home for supper!
