2/10

Posted on April 5, 2026April 5, 2026

Well, bummer… no new chicks… I’ll give it another day, but it looks like that poor hen has been setting on infertile eggs. Two out of ten hatched and then Nip didn’t make it, but Tuck is still running around. I take her out of her box once or twice a day which she appreciates.

The snow melted this afternoon. It didn’t run off, but soaked into the thirsty ground and the grass returned a brilliant green.

Wishing you the best of holiday weekends!

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
