Tuck II

Posted on May 9, 2026May 9, 2026

In case you’ve been wondering, little Tuck is doing good. She has become quite the pet, jumping on my hand like a parakeet. Happy to see me, she would only be loud when I was opening her cage to feed and water her. As much as I have enjoyed that, she is growing and she can’t stay in my house forever…

I waited until I thought the colder weather was over… next week will be in the ‘80’s… though today was glorious with almost a third of an inch of rain…. Tuck needs a bigger cage, but she is still too tiny to be let out with the Big Chickens. Chickens can be MEAN and she’ll have to grow up totally and be quick to avoid their attacks. For a while, she’ll stay in her normal cage, the shock of living with birds and not in my mud room has probably been a lot to deal with.

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
